Lino cut (sombrero with moustache)
We got this assignment in art class. You had to take a piece of linoleum and cut a symbol or image out of it. This could be any kind of symbol, even a symbol made by yourself. When you had made the symbol you wanted, you had to allign the symbol with ball-point pen. In this way the sides are visible when you paint your symbol on the lino cut with ink, each time you had painted the lino cut with ink, you had to push it hard against a piece of paper (A4 - format). When you had done this, you had to wash the piece of lino, so that you could make another print and each time you could choose a different ink colour. You had to make 7 prints (I was ill one lesson so I could only make 3 prints). What was very surprising for me was that I had a 7 for this assignment, in spite of the fact that I was ill and that because of this I only had 3 prints, instead of 7, and also that I had cutted wrong multiple times. But still, I think I could do better.
Introduce yourself
This is an assignment which we got at school. Here you needed to draw a part of your bedroom, your head, some things from your backpack which needed to be something in which the others could recognise you, and you could draw some other characteristics or things of you. Those things needn't to be from your backpack. Actually that's quiet obvious, because it would be strange to have a pack of McDonald's chips in your backpack. Anyway, I got a 6.5 for this assignment. But still, I think I could do better.

Cityscape in two point perspective
My painting of a sandwich
This is my painting of a sandwich, I got a 5.5 for it. I think I could do better, but I agree with my mark. I'm not so good at painting as you see........my brother thought it was a television. So I have to paint better and clearer.

Drawing of a landscape
In art lesson we had to draw a landscape in aerial perspective, I got a 6.5 for my drawing, because it wasn't finished. I was ill at the time we could finish the drawing, but a 6.5 is all right. Also the colours from the aerial perspective were supposed to be the other way around and I did that wrong. So I think I could do better, also on other points.

Colour theory of Itten
Johannes Itten was born on the 11th of November 1888 in Südern-Lindern in Switzerland. He was a Swiss expressionist painter and he wanted to teach on the primary school, so he went to the Teacher Trainings Institute in Bern. after that he may also teach on secondary schools, but he didn't go to teach there and became a painter and in 1913 he was teached by Adolf Hölzel. 6 years later he Johannes Itten went to teach at the Bauhaus in Weimar. he taught there till 1922. later on he became very successful, in 1926 he had his own art school, he became the director of a museum and a school, he won prizes and wrote books about the colour theory he has made. He was a very successful and hard-working man, he died on the 27th of May 1967.
The colour theory of Itten: in the picture you can see the colour wheel of Itten. There are different types of colours :
Primary colours: are in the centre of the colour wheel: red, yellow and blue.
Secondary colours: are produced from the mixing of one primary colour with another. These colours are orange, green and violet.
Tertiary colours: are created whten mixing one secondary and one primary colour. i.e. blue + violet = blue-violet. The tertiary colours are: yellow-orange, red-orange, red-violet, blue-violet, blue-green and yellow-green.
Complementary colours: are opposite on the colour wheel. Red and green, yellow and violet, blue and orange, are the three simple pairs of complementary colours. These colours always go well with each other.
Warm colours: are colours we associate with the sun and fire. They are red, yellow and orange.
Cool colours: are colours we associate with the sea and cold, chilly weather. They are blue, green and some kinds of purple (blueish purple).
Adding white to a colour is known as a tint and adding black to a colour is referred to as a shade.
We had to make a colour mixing sheet in art class mine was lost so I had something else that represents the mixing of colours. I had a 5.5 for it, I think I could do better. We had to do it with paint and i'm not good at painting

Banknote Assignment
At school we had to draw our own banknote, first with pencil and then with East-Indian ink. We've also got a mark for this assignment. I've got a 6.5 for this assignment. I think I could do it better; more patterns, more clear lines and I also don't have to spill so much ink anymore. But i think it is a moderate mark, anyway I'm glad that it wasn't an insufficient mark.
